Mac Pro

MacPro - the fastest Mac ever

MacPro runs at speeds of up to 3GHz on twin Dual Core Intel Xeon "Woodcrest" processors. It is roughly twice as fast as it's predecessor the Power Mac G4 Quad. It is quite simply the best Mac ever and it starts at only £1,699 inc VAT.

It is available in two slower and cheaper versions at 2GHz and 2.66GHz as well as the top of the range 3GHz machine.

How to choose the right one:
As well as the processor choices, virtually everything else on the machine is configurable too. There are actually over 4 million possible configurations!

Click here to configure a machine online and see the prices of the various options. Remember that the processor speed is not necessarily the biggest factor in the overall performance of the machine - memory and disk access also have a significant effect.

Up to 3TB storage
Install up to four 750GB hard drives in four independent, 3Gb-per-second Serial ATA drive bays using a new cable-free, direct-attach system.

High-performance graphics
Every Mac Pro graphics card supports dual displays and at least one 30-inch display. For added graphics performance, you can choose upgraded, workstation-class graphics cards that can power two 30-inch Apple Cinema HD displays.

PCI Express expansion
Install additional PCI Express cards into the three full-length PCI Express expansion slots, which feature a newly designed bracket for tool-less installation and removal of cards.

Up to 16GB RAM
Add up to 16GB of 667MHz DDR2 fully buffered ECC memory — a new memory architecture that’s up to 256 bits wide and allows for greater memory capacity, faster speeds, and better reliability.
